Crochet
Crochet is a traditional technique of creating fabric using yarn or thread with a single crochet hook. It’s really simple to get started by creating a crochet chain which can then be developed into something more using a range of crochet techniques. If you haven’t tried crochet before and want to give it a go then check out my Videos page for some simple tutorials to get you started.
My love of crochet began as a child but was re-ignited around 4 years ago when I received an Amigurumi book as a Christmas present. These cute little crochet creations are so much fun to make and so quick to do. I quickly began to realise that the patterns are just basic maths and with a bit of tinkering, patience and a lot of ‘starting again’ it’s not that hard to design a simple Amigurumi animal. And so my first little friend was developed - the ikkle green dragon! After that, I was on a roll. Mermaids, seahorses, daffodils, princesses in towers, toadstools and a huge range of Christmas decorations - you can pretty much crochet anything! I've been lucky enough to have some of my patterns published in craft magazine and started to create a range of crochet kits. Here are some of my latest designs: |
There are apps for most of these designs and also downloadable PDFs which can be found here. Also, if you’re keen to make a Christmas decoration but don’t have all the materials needed then I've put together some simple kits which can be found in the Shop area.
I'm always up for a challenge so if there’s a certain animal or object that you’d like a pattern for then get in touch and I’ll see what I can come up with!
